Before & After photos speak volumes about the importance of interior design. The possibilities of a well planned renovation are boundless and that is what we hope to share with you in this series. No interior is ever ‘hopeless’. Where there is a room there is a way!
Before: In this home the existing interior was dark and did not fit the family’s fun personality. The dining room and kitchen needed to be reworked to make a more livable space for our client. The large, wooden wall (seen below) divided the living room and dining area that made the interior appear much smaller than it actually was.
Solution: We changed just about everything we could to personalize our client’s kitchen to look and operate exactly the way they imagined. We changed the color palette to incorporate bright white while demolishing the invasive wooden wall. This completely opened the space. From the hard surface selections to the furnishings, the client wanted to make sure that the modern look he loved was livable for his family. Custom selections with durable fabrics and finishes were made as well. The client wanted to focus on white with elements of yellow.
How fabulous are the Copper Tom Dixon Shade Pendants? They add the perfect element of light we were aiming for. Here is our initial design board.
The concrete floors and all of the cabinetry were original to the space, and were stained orange! A new soft gray color was selected to refinish the floors and a custom gray wash was used on all cabinetry.
As you can see, the dining room now shares the downstairs with the kitchen and living room, providing a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. Having the ability to make a huge impact on a home by implementing our designs is incredibly rewarding. That is just one reason why we love what we do.
What about you; what room would you renovate in your home if you had the option? We would love to hear from you!
