Fall has officially arrived…at least according to the calendar and to all those on Instagram touting “Hello, October!”. Since October realy has arrived… um, yesterday… we’ve been thinking of the leaves changing colors, waking up to that crisp mountain air and feeling grateful for the opportunity to have spent so much time in our Aspen office. Even though we no longer call Aspen our “office home”, we are still inspired by the beautiful surroundings and the talented neighbors like architectural firm, . So, as we patiently wait for fall to arrive in Houston, you can find us dreaming about one of the perfectly crisp mountain homes.

Woody Creek Mountain Home in Aspen, Colorado

Aspen Retreat Living Room by Dbh-biz.info Interior Design

Rustic meets clean lines in this Woody Creek Cabin. The color palette and texture of materials brings the beauty of the outdoors inside and the pops of metal add a modern touch. The natural wood texture of the lamp and side table add warmth to the space. Aztec print pillows add just the right dash of color to the room and a cozy throw just beckons guests to sit down and stay a while.

Elk Peak Ranch in Aspen, Colorado

Local Aspen firm, Cuniffe Architects, designed this stunner. Situated on the edge of a hay field with a small stream running through it, this property was designed to take full advantage of its natural surroundings. Elk Peak Ranch has views of Aspen and Snowmass and it precisely placed to face the gorgeous Elk Mountains.

Floor to ceiling windows allows natural light to flood the house and provide incredible views. A neutral color palette and warm wood finishes keep the space feeling open and like an extension of the outdoors. Accents of blues and grays bring a soothing and relaxing feel to the space.

Hallam Street in Aspen, Colorado

This Hallam Street project from Rowland and Broughton (also our Aspen neighbors!) is the perfect departure from a traditional mountain home. The exposed beam ceilings make the space feel cozy even with the expansive ceilings. We love their architectural style!

There are plenty of inviting seating areas throughout the home that makes it perfect for entertaining. Modern light fixtures add a chic touch to this not so traditional mountain home. Lots of natural light, rich-toned pillows and a touch of fur make create a warm and luxurious space.

JH Modern in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

JH Modern is the perfect example of a fabulously rustic, yet contemporary aesthetic. A gorgeous live-edge wood headboard adds warmth and texture to an all white room. The Mongolian sheepskin on the upholstered accent chair adds a soft and luxe feel to the space.

When it comes to this mountain get-away home, it’s all about the details. The different wood tones pay homage to the natural landscape and create a beautiful visual texture. The metallic buffalo head grouping is a whimsical touch and livens up the wood. It’s a fun mix of modern design and clean lines with rustic materials.

Kitchens are for bringing people together. A large open kitchen is perfect for entertaining and making big meals as a group. Open shelves help keep everything in reach so the whole family can help, while an oriental rug warms up with the neutral space.

The clean and simple lines of the furnishings in this mountain home keep the space fresh and airy. Patterned pillows on the sofa pack a playful punch. The wood log display and Elk mount above the low-slung fireplace are the perfect touch of rustic retreat in this contemporary home.
