One of the most essential factors to Studio U, is our interactive design library. Studio U specializes in design on a room-by-room basis, therefore we work with shorter project timelines. This gives us less time to spend at the decorative center searching through all the vendors looking for that perfect wallcovering or fabric. So how did we solve this problem? We brought the Dec Center to us! Studio U’s Senior Designer, Jillian, compiled a list of the best vendors who specialize in everything from fabric to tile and even roofing. Our Studio Guru got to work filling our library with the latest and greatest products our vendors have to offer.

The Design Library features over 60 custom-made drawers designed to aptly fit and display our physical samples. For designers, it is important to have these physical samples because it makes it easy to view the colors and texture of the different materials together. The library is organized by different function; fabric, flooring, paint, wallcovering, and tile. In addition to our collection of fabric books, we have over 2,000 loose fabric samples organized into six color drawers. This makes it easy for our designers to open a drawer and see hundreds of fabric options in a particular color. Our flooring section includes stone flooring, carpet, rugs, and wood. We have a large collection of beautiful wood flooring samples from Exquisite Surfaces, a company which specializes in antique French wood floors (they even did Gwenyth Paltrow’s LA ).

We  organized our fabrics by color to make the selection process much more simple.

Sherwin-Williams provided us with amazing Color Swatches that we can’t wait to show off.

We love our Rug and Carpet Color Samples!

We have collected over 2,000 Fabric samples thus far, more to come!

We love to keep inspiration fabric collections on the pin-up boards. Right now we are all about .

Our library also houses hundreds of catalogs that help us perfectly complete every detail of every project. Our catalog collection includes everything from bedding, artwork, furniture, hardware, knobs, pulls, plumbing fixtures, and even indoor plants! The library also doubles as a showroom. We display products from vendors we love to work with, such as Hunter Douglas who provided us with ten different window treatments for our storefront windows.

Another great detail we love in our library are the huge pin-up boards which allow us to visualize fabrics, wallcovering, paints, and tiles together for a room. It is also a fun way to display our favorite new products we receive on a weekly basis. We even had a fabric heart put up for Valentine’s Day!

The best way to learn about Studio U’s library, though, is to come see it for yourself! So please stop by and the Studio U team would be happy to show you around.
