Two things I love are fabulous statement chairs and romantic designs. One of the pieces that brings these two loves together in a unique way is the hanging chair. It’s a versatile chair you can use in your kids’ bedrooms or outside on your veranda. Just not the same piece, please!
Flashy shower curtains, animal-print towel mats and, of course, piles of bath time toys, can quickly create a recipe for sensory overload in children’s bathrooms. As a mother of two energetic twin girls, I completely understand the delicate balancing act required to design a playful, kid-friendly bathroom that won’t offend your adult senses!
For my clients with kiddos of their own, I encourage spending extra time on the interior detailing of the space just as you would any other room in the house. Since children’s bathrooms are typically smaller spaces, I also tend to focus on details and fab hues rather than statement pieces to add the finishing touches to a design.
For all of the moms and dads out there attempting to pull off a fun, yet adult-friendly, bathroom for the kids, here are some of my favorite children’s bathrooms that and I have created over the years.
We tend to correlate a refined design with neutrals and basics, but who said incorporating bursts of color into a design can’t evoke the same maturity? First, the truth: I hesitate to comment very often on interior design trends. While I love the newest of the new, my classically current design philosophy shies away from incorporating “trendy” pieces into my interiors simply for trend’s sake. Above all, interiors should be timeless, fine, comfortable, and a representation of the real you! For many reasons, I abhor disposable design and never purchase an item for myself that I don’t absolutely love and see being part of my life forever. All that said, there is one look that is currently trending that I am totally over the top about right now: Boho Chic.
This look is a natural progression of the Scandinavian Modern look that was all the rage last year and is still super hot. I have my eye on Boho right now because I am working on a fabulous interior design project in Houston’s Highland Village neighborhood. Our client loves contemporary style and asked us to soften the space with the natural, handmade elements of which the Boho look is known. Alongside the uber-talented Dbh-biz.info designers, , principal designer, and , interior designer, I have collected the BEST of the Boho Chic trend.
These are pieces that are bench-made by artisans, lovingly and thoughtfully crafted, and will have longevity and relevance long after this look reaches a fever pitch.

For those unfamiliar with this sweet summer escape located in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, Blackberry Farm serves as a luxurious, rustic getaway for anyone looking to leave the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the great outdoors with a glass of wine from a local vineyard in hand- two of my favorite things!
