Last week, I attended the , one of my favorite markets of the entire year! No one can deny the positive energy Las Vegas exudes. It’s always packed, even in winter. Everyone is smiling, drinking, eating, gambling, enjoying, and rushing from place to place. It’s so many things at once. I like to think of the Strip as “glamorous, but approachable” and that’s exactly how I would describe Market.
As an interior designer, you learn about “design rules” early on. But after a few years, your style evolves. Very much like the old adage to “not wear white after Labor Day,” you realize that some rules were meant to be broken!
I always say there is no real “rule book” when it comes to interior design. Really, it’s more like a set of standard industry best practices to get you started. Then you create your own rules. After all, the point is to trust your own design instincts!
Going out to meet friends for a cocktail is always fun, but I love having an in house bar where people can come over and enjoy drinks at our home. When it comes to creating the perfect at home bar, you want to make sure it’s stocked not only with your favorite wines and liquors, but with all the other barware essentials you need to host a fabulous evening.
I love visiting and when I’m searching for great barware and accessories. They have amazing pieces in all different styles, so whether you’re creating a space with a mid-century vibe or one that’s more modern, you can find what you need.
In today’s post I want to share a few pieces I think every at home bar needs.

With the holiday of love upon us, I can reflect on the two things I love most- my family and interior design! Throughout my career, I have studied and experimented with countless design tips and techniques; and have narrowed down my favorites that work best for me.
Let me start by saying there is no secret rule book designers use. We are all creative by nature and love to imagine, explore and follow our intuition by pushing the envelope at times. We do this because we all strive to create our own design style that sets us apart from the rest.
For instance, as most of you already know, I am not a big believer in designs based on “trends” of the season. Mostly because trends come and go at a rapid pace and your home style shouldn’t. Instead, I enjoy the challenge of taking classic pieces and mixing them with modern elements to transform them into one classically current design.
